Salvation is of God and not of the effort of man.  The price was paid for on Calvary's cross that we might be saved from the power and the penalty of sin.  Jesus is the one that paid the price with his life that we might be saved from our sins.

Romans 6: 23

(23)  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Sin has a pay day which is death.  The bible does not leave us in doubt about sin!  If you have sin then you have death.  Jesus gave his life on the cross that we might be free from sin, and if we are free from sin, we are free from death also.  The gift if God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Jesus gives us eternal life and everlasting life.

Jesus said that he had come that we might have life.  If you have Jesus you have life and if you have sin then you have death.  Jesus saves you from death and sin gives you death.

The children of God are not only forgiven of their sin but also are made dead to sin.  They become alive to God and dead to sin.  There was a time before they were saved that they were dead to God and alive to sin.  Salvation was given unto them and they became dead to sin and alive to God.

Romans 6: 7

(7)  For he that is dead is freed from sin.

The big question is this!  "When does a man become dead to sin?"  A man becomes dead to sin when he is born again.  It happens when Jesus comes into his life and saves his soul.  Why?  The reason is that before he was saved, he was alive to sin and dead to God.  After he is saved be becomes alive to Jesus and dead to sin.

This is the truth of all truths!  "Everyone needs Jesus."  I need Jesus and you need Jesus.  It does not make any difference whether you are uptown, downtown or across town we all need Jesus.  Whoever you might be or wherever you might be from everyone needs Jesus.

Matthew 1: 21

(21)  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

A man or woman, boy or girl are saved from their sins when they called on the name of Jesus.  This salvation is a free gift of God.  It is not something that we earn or work for.  It is a free gift of God.  The price has been paid and we do not save ourselves.  It is Jesus that saves us and it is all because of the love of God. The love of the Lord is the reason that we are saved.

1.  Saved from sin.

2.  Saved from transgressions.

3.  Saved from iniquities.

4.  Saved from the devil.

5.  Saved from darkness.

6.  Saved from this present evil world.

7.  Saved from ourselves.

Ephesians 2: 8-9

(8)  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves:  it is the gift of God:

(9)  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There is not any boasting that we can do because our salvation is not of works, but a gift of God.  It is a wonderful thing to be saved and to know the Lord Jesus Christ as the savior of our soul.

Jesus took nails in his hands and feet, stripes upon his back.  A crown of thorns was placed upon his head and a spear was stuck in to his body.

He died upon the cross and with a loud voice cried that it was finished.  He was placed in a grave and descended into hell.

Hell could not hold him, and the grave could not keep him.  He arose and revived from the dead.

He showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them for forty days.

Later on out as far as Bethany with his hand lifted up in the air blessing his disciples, he began to rise up in the air.  He went back to heaven in front of his disciples.

He was seated on the throne of God.  Jesus is bigger than hell.  He is bigger than the grave yard.  He is bigger than the devil and can save your soul no matter what shape that you find yourself in.

Jesus gave himself for our spirit, soul, and body.  It is a great blessing to know that Jesus is not only concerned about our soul and spirit but also our body.

1 Peter 2: 24

(24)  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

He not only took our sins that we could be dead to sin and live unto righteousness, he also took our sickness.

1.  Our sickness

2.  Our infirmities

3. Our maladies

4.  Our diseases

5.  All our health problems.

He took them that we might be able to be delivered from all of them.  He also took a law that we could not keep while he was on the tree.  What a price Jesus paid that we might have so great a salvation of life and health in him.

A person that is saved is a blessed person.  The blessing of the Lord is upon them.  Salvation is to be enjoyed and not just endured.  It is one of the greatest blessings that will ever come your way.

Jesus is for real and he will save you now.  Tell him that you are sorry for your sins and that you are a sinner in need of his salvation.  Ask him to forgive you and wash you in his blood.  Tell Jesus that you want to be a child of God.

Tell him that you want to be born again.  The bible says that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved!!  Did you call on his name?  Are you going to heaven instead of hell?  Are you going to live or are you going to die?

1.  I had rather go to heaven instead of hell!

2.  I had rather have JESUS than to have the devil!

3.  I had rather have LIFE than DEATH!
